O Gotham Awards, troféu nova-iorquino dedicado a produções independentes, que tradicionalmente marca o começo da temporada anual de premiações de cinema nos EUA, divulgou os indicados de sua edição de 2022 nesta terça (25/10). E o filme “Tár”, dirigido por Todd Field, liderou a lista com cinco indicações, incluindo Melhor Filme e Melhor Direção.
Bastante elogiado, “Tár” atingiu 96% de aprovação no Rotten Tomatoes e rendeu o troféu de Melhor Atriz para Cate Blanchett no recente Festival de Veneza. Blanchett, por sinal, também foi indicada na categoria de Melhor Atuação (o Gotham Awards não faz distinção entre Melhor Ator e Melhor Atriz).
O filme “Aftersun”, de Charlotte Wells, foi o segundo mais indicado, concorrendo em quatro categorias, seguido pela surpreendente lembrança da sci-fi “Tudo Em Todo Lugar Ao Mesmo Tempo”, de Dan Kwan e Daniel Scheinert, e “The Inspection”, dirigido por Elegance Bratton, que acumularam três indicações cada.
Outras indicações de destaque incluem o ator Brendan Fraser, que concorre por seu papel em “The Whale”, o cineasta James Gray, indicado pelo roteiro de “Armageddon Time”, e Beth de Araújo, diretora americana filha de um brasileiro, que concorre por seu longa de estreia, o elogiado terror “Soft & Quiet”.
Além disso, o Gotham Awards vai homenagear o ator Adam Sandler (“Joias Brutas”) e a atriz Michelle Williams (“Venom: Tempo de Carnificina”). A premiação vai acontecer no dia 28 de novembro, em Nova York.
