A Academia de Artes e Ciências Televisivas dos Estados Unidos anunciou nesta terça-feira (12/7) os indicados à seu prêmio anual, o Emmy Awards.
A maior premiação da indústria americana de televisão e streaming consagrou vários favoritos do público, como “Stranger Things”, “Round 6” e “Euphoria”. Mas o campeão de indicações foi uma produção queridinha da crítica, o drama “Succession”, que atingiu 25 nomeações por sua 3ª temporada na HBO.
Entre as comédias, a liderança ficou “Ted Lasso”, da Apple TV+, com 20 indicações, mesmo número que atingiu a minissérie mais lembrada, “The White Lotus”, da HBO Max.
Outros destaques da seleção ficaram por conta das comédias “Hacks” e “Only Murders in the Building”, com 17 indicações, e o drama “Euphoria”, com 16. Além disso, quatro títulos empataram com 14 nomeações cada: “Barry”, “Dopesick”, “Ruptura” e “Round 6”. De forma notável, das produções citadas apenas “Round 6” foi lançada pela Netflix, maior plataforma de streaming do mundo.
“Round 6”, por sinal, se tornou a primeira produção em língua não inglesa indicada na categoria de Melhor Série de Drama. Mas não foi a única indicação histórica do dia. Zendaya também entrou para a História como a mais jovem atriz a ser indicada duas vezes consecutivas em sua categoria, bem como a produtora mais jovem a concorrer por um prêmio de Melhor Série com “Euphoria”.
A 74ª edição do Emmy também restabeleceu o reinado da HBO, com 140 indicações (incluindo produções da HBO Max), após ser superada pela Netflix no ano passado. Neste ano, a Netflix ficou longe, com 105. Menos até que a HBO tradicional (excluindo produções da HBO Max), que teve 108 nomeações.
Quem também obteve bons resultados foram Hulu (Star+ no Brasil), com 58, e Apple TV+, com 51, crescendo significativamente em relação a anos anteriores.
Apesar da quantidade de prêmios em disputa, séries de grande repercussão ficaram fora da lista, assim como estrelas de primeira grandeza, como Nicole Kidman e até Selena Gomez, uma das favoritas a Melhor Atriz de Comédia, que acabou esnobada apesar da inclusão de seus parceiros de “Only Murders in the Building”, Steven Martin e Martin Short, na categoria masculina.
Também não houve espaço para o elenco de “Stranger Things”, apesar do desempenho elogiadíssimo de Sadie Sink. A série conseguiu 13 indicações, mas em categorias técnicas.
Vale lembrar que a Parte 2 da 4ª temporada ficou para o Emmy 2023, já que a premiação só considera episódios que estrearam entre 1 de junho de 2021 e 31 de maio deste ano nos Estados Unidos. Por isso “The Boys” também não apareceu na lista.
Confira abaixo a lista das principais indicações da premiação. Além destas, há muitas outras – como edição, fotografia, maquiagem, etc – , num total de 119 categorias, que levam o prêmio a ser dividido em três noites. As duas primeiras noites são dedicadas aos troféus técnicos e estão marcadas para 3 e 4 de setembro. Já os Emmys principais serão entregues no dia 12 de setembro, numa cerimônia de gala em Los Angeles, mas o endereço e o apresentador ainda não foram anunciados.
