A Academia de Televisão dos Estados Unidos divulgou nesta terça (16/7) os indicados à edição 2019 do Emmy, principal premiação da indústria televisiva americana.
Anunciada pelos atores Ken Jeong (“Podres de Ricos”) e D’Arcy Carden (“The Good Place”), a lista destacou a liderança de “Game of Thrones” em sua 8ª e última temporada, apesar da repercussão negativa do desfecho nas redes sociais.
A produção da HBO somou 32 indicações. Trata-se de um número recorde no Emmy. Nunca antes uma produção recebeu tantas indicações pela mesma temporada.
Dez das nomeações foram para os atores da série, tanto nas categorias de protagonistas como nas de coadjuvantes. Estão indicados Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys), Peter Dinklage (Tyrion), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime), Alfie Allen (Theon), Sophie Turner (Sansa), Maisie Williams (Arya), Gwendoline Christie (Brienne), Lena Headey (Cersei) e Carice van Houten (Melisandre).
As 22 restantes estabeleceram um verdadeiro domínio nas chamadas categorias criativas – a parte técnica – , cuja cerimônia de premiação acontece em data diferente da transmissão televisiva.
Os concorrentes de “Game of Thrones” na categoria de Melhor Série de Drama são “Killing Eve”, “Ozark”, “This Is Us”, “Better Call Saul”, “Pose”, “Succession” e “Bodyguard”. A última, lançada como “Segurança em Jogo” pela Netflix no Brasil, curiosamente é uma minissérie. Mas o Emmy está ressabiado de premiar minisséries que ganham 2ª temporada e admite desconfiar que este seria o mesmo caso.
“Game of Thrones” também ajudou a HBO a se manter como o canal mais prestigiado pela Academia, com 137 indicações, à frente da Netflix, que recebeu 112. Entretanto, não foi o único destaque da emissora da WarnerMedia. “Chernobyl” e “Veep” também se projetaram, respectivamente entre as minisséries e séries de comédia.
Assim como a produção dos dragões, “Veep” está se despedindo da TV e busca conquistar seus últimos prêmios e ampliar recordes da Academia. Por conta disso, o Emmy 2019 servirá como cortina final de uma era.
A cerimônia de premiação do 71º Emmy Awards acontecerá no dia 22 de setembro no Microsoft Theater, em Los Angeles.
