O ator Dwayne Johnson foi eleito o ator mais bem pago de 2016 no ranking anual da revista Forbes. Com uma receita avaliada em US$ 64,5 milhões, ele superou Jackie Chan (US$ 61 milhões com produções chinesas), Matt Damon (US$ 55 milhões) e Robert Downey Jr (o campeão do ano passado, agora com US$ 33 milhões).

Contabilizando seus sucessos desde 2015, ele se destacou graças a filmes como “Velozes & Furiosos 7”, “Terremoto: A Falha de San Andreas” e “Um Espião e Meio”, além da série “Ballers”.

Para chamar atenção para a marca, ele postou uma imagem comemorativa em seu Instagram, mas em vez de se gabar, lembrou de seus dias de pobreza e da importância de batalhar e contar com apoio para obter sucesso.

“Receber notícias como essa sempre vai servir com um lembrete para que eu continue trabalhando mais e mais duro. Não queremos só abraçar o trabalho, mas elevar o trabalho para outro nível”, comentou o ator, também conhecido como The Rock. “Grandeza nunca é conseguida sozinho. Se cerque de indivíduos brilhantes e famintos que não só abracem a sua filosofia, mas estejam dispostos a trabalhar tão duro quanto você”.

“E nunca esqueça de onde você veio. Eu foi expulso da minha casa aos 14 anos e estava completamente quebrado aos 23. Todos os dias, eu ajo como se aquela ordem de expulsão estivesse batendo à minha porta novamente”, completou.

O nome de sua produtora reflete esse pensamento. A empresa Seven Bucks Productions, que produz a série “Ballers”, recebeu esse nome para evocar o momento máximo de penúria da vida de Johnson, quando, em 1995, após encerrar sua participação na liga de Futebol Canadense, ele tinha apenas US$ 7 (seven bucks) na sua carteira.
