O Sindicato dos Diretores dos Estados Unidos divulgou uma parte dos indicados a seu prêmio anual, o DGA Awards. Foram revelados os concorrentes das categorias televisivas e de documentário, um dia antes da revelação dos nomeados por filmes de ficção. Todos os vencedores serão conhecidos no dia 3 de fevereiro. A lista tem algumas peculiaridades. Uma delas é desconsiderar que “Big Little Lies” foi renovada e deixou de ser série limitada. Outra é que “Wormwood”, indicado como documentário, foi exibido como série de seis episódios. Mas o que chama mais atenção é a importância de “Game of Thrones” para a categoria. A série de dragões da HBO emplacou três episódios, de diretores diferentes, na seleção televisiva. Mesmo assim, a favorita é Reed Morano, que já venceu o Emmy 2017 pela direção do piloto de “The Handmaid’s Tale”. Outros destaques são Niki Caro concorrendo na categoria de Produções Infantis por “Anne” e Amy Schumer disputando a categoria de Especiais por “Amy Schumer: The Leather Special”.
